Purple Crocuses Small Abstract Painting on Art Greeting Card

4 x 6" Acrylic Painting on Watercolor Paper Greeting Card
"Color Chord #27"
SOLD

Purple is one of my favorite colors. The crocuses in my yard this year kept me smiling with their varieties of purples set off with other white flowers. They must have been on my mind when I painted this small abstract painting because I could see them outside my studio windows.

This is another abstract painting on a watercolor paper greeting card in a series I've been painting as an outcome from my color explorations on this blog. Each is unique. I couldn't repeat the colors and textures if I tried. And this is not a print.

The painting can be easily framed. The image is 4 x 6" on a 5 x 7" single fold card and includes a white envelope.
Have you considered collecting some of these small art pieces from the series?

San Juan Islands Painting Artist Meets San Juan Artisans

"Puget Sound Peninsula"
5 x 7" acrylic on gessoed mat board
$34.95

Today as I was working on my Etsy shop I read the current Etsy blog post entry about three artisans who live on Orcas Island, one of the San Juan Islands. My last blog post featured a recent painting of the San Juans. I felt that another painting of Puget Sound was perfect to illustrate my experience in "meeting" these fellow Etsy shop owners.

Their classy website www.bossysfeltworks.com tells the story of island life in all its creativity, simplicity, and ingenuity which makes it the place where tourists flock in the summertime. Orcas Island is one of the stops on the ferry trip through the San Juan Islands as I mentioned in my March 23rd post.

Read the Etsy interview of their featured shop and check out their crafty products.

San Juan Islands Original Oil Painting Small Art from Northwest Artist K. Joann Russell

"San Juan Islands" 5 x 7" oil on gessoed mat board
$30.00 incl S&H in USA

An original small painting with lots of color and texture to express the beauty of the Puget Sound inland sea and the evergreen trees on the San Juan Islands. Let this art remind you of your ferry ride through these waters.

When the sun is out as it is today I enjoy living close to the beaches of Puget Sound with the Olympic Mountains in the background. The beauty of this area is unmatched, in my opinion. All I have to do is rotate approximately 90 degrees and see the jaw-dropping beauty of Mt. Rainier towering above the skyline. It gives me so much to express in paint.

This painting will be varnished and ready for your choice of frame. The small size makes it so versatile for display possibilities on table top or wall.

To keep up with my art as I make it available to the public please subscribe to the blog feed or "like" my Facebook page "Sunflower Studio Art". To find my latest tweets go to my website

New Small Abstract Painting Surf Nautical Colors Original Art

4 x 6" acrylic on watercolor paper greeting card
"Color Chord #19"

This new small abstract painting reminds me of the weather forecast for today at the ocean beaches in the northwest, high winds. The surf crashes and blows over submerged rocks and sand. If the clouds and overcast don't render everything shades of grays, then the variations of colors can be observed.
